          Kevin Horn - (Ph.D. 2008 - present)

Fire in the Mojave Desert is increasing in frequency and
extent due to the presence of invasive grasses driven by
intense precipitation events. Native vegetation is slow to
recover after fire. I'm examining the potential for
ecosystem recovery by investigating post-fire plant
physiology, seed dispersal through small mammals, and
landscape scale relationships of vegetation and soil
moisture with changing climatic events via remote
         sensing.

                         Josh Buck -
 (M.S. August 2010 - present)

Research interests: I study facilitative relationships between aspen
and subalpine fir and how that associations leads to competition
and mortality in late successional stages underfire suppression.

herbivory and defense responses of regenerating
aspen;soil resource acquisition and physiology of aspen
